QA Test Engineer

PlusNet plc are currently recruiting for a QA / Test Engineer

If you are a highly motivated individual with an interest in testing enterprise applications and have a solid understanding of manual and automated testing this position could be of interest to you.

You will have gained industry experience as a Software Tester and will have a thorough understanding of the software development life-cycle. Some knowledge of automated testing tools, Linux, PHP, Java or MySQL would be advantageous, but not essential.

Key Skills:

• Capable of producing and working to Test Plans and Test Scripts
• Knowledge of QA / QC procedures, standards and systems Knowledge of defect tracking The ability to work unsupervised at times
• whilst remaining part of a team Excellent inter-personal skills with peers and senior management
• Familiar with database-driven applications (SQL Server/MySQL)
• Knowledge of the Linux Operating System
• Able to work to tight deadlines
• Flexible

Beneficial Skills:

• Knowledge of PHP, MySQL or Java
• Knowledge of web based systems
• Experience of using automated testing tools Data analysis interpretation Experience of performing / co-ordinating UAT testing (including User Interfaces)
• Creation of system monitoring tools Experience of Testing Linux Software Applications / Database Applications Configuration management (CVS) Understanding of the ISP marketplace
