Following on from positive feedback we are continuing with the new Community site format. We will provide a summary of the main news articles that have appeared on the Community Site over the past month and point you there for more information.

This edition contains detailed information on how you can use the ‘Manage My Mail’ tool to significantly reduce spam, our referrals summer giveaway, and the full launch of our Community site. 1. Manage My Mail improvements – Combating spam

Our ‘Manage My Mail’ tool now allows you greater flexibility and control over your email settings, enabling you to significantly reduce the amount of spam that you are receiving. We have introduced a selection of new features which allow you to more effectively protect yourself against spam. Take a look at our Comms Blog for a step by step guide on how you can minimise the amount of unsolicited mail that you receive.

2. Number 1 for ‘Overall Customer Satisfaction’

I’m delighted to announce that PlusNet has been voted Number 1 for Overall Customer Satisfaction in the UK! The results of the uSwitch broadband survey were announced earlier this month. This is an independent survey run by YouGov and asked over 20,000 broadband users to rate their internet provider. I’d like to say a massive thank you for your continued support. The results of our most recent customer satisfaction survey show that 55% of respondents were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘extremely satisfied’ with the service that they receive. The recent floods which affected much of Yorkshire caused a significant increase in broadband faults and contacts to our support centre. BT declared the situation as a matter beyond their reasonable control  which resulted in some faults taking longer to resolve than normal. We are going to be introducing a survey for all of our customers in the near future. So, if you haven’t had the opportunity to voice your opinions you will soon be able to.

3. The Great Summer Giveaway

Over the last couple of months we’ve been looking at our referrals model and what it offers you, our customers. We want you to gain as much as possible from recommending our services and we have made two considerable changes to enable you to do this.

4. The Community site is coming!

We will very shortly be launching our new Community site. It’s been at the beta stage for the last 3 months and has been a massive success so far. It brings together our Plusnet, Force9, Free-Online and Metronet communities in a single place. You will be able to enjoy a faster and more functional website containing forums, blogs, news articles and more.

To celebrate the launch of the Community site we will be running a holiday photo competition with a fantastic Canon SLR digital camera up for grabs! Keep an eye on the Community site for further details about how you can enter this fantastic competition.

5. Plusnet to the rescue!

6. The Facebook phenomenon

Some of you will be 100% familiar with and socially immersed in Facebook; the rest of you won’t have a clue what it is. There’s not that many people in between; once it gets you, it’s got you.

Facebook is a social networking site which currently has over 26 million users and is changing the way in which people communicate.
