These are the settings you'll need to get connected with an SDSL router or modem.

The terms used for these settings can vary, depending on the make and model of your hardware. We've tried to use the most common variants, but check the manufacturers guide if you're not sure.

1. What is SDSL?

SDSL (Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line) gives you matching upload and download speeds. It's ideal for regularly sending and receiving large files, or using applications like video conferencing, server hosting, VoIP and LAN Extension.

2. What speeds are available?

Our SDSL products offer speeds 'up to' 250k, 500k, 1Mb and 2Mb. Speeds apply to both uploading and downloading.

What you can get depends on the length of the cable to your local telephone exchange - the shorter the cable, the faster the connection. Below is an approximate guide to the SDSL service you can expect to receive:

3. Do I need any special equipment to use SDSL?

Yes, you'll need a router or modem that supports SDSL.

Please note: we do not supply SDSL hardware.

4. How long does it take to activate SDSL?

You can ask for an installation date that suits you, but it must be at least 20 working days from the day you place your order.

6. What contract options are available for SDSL?

The minimum contract period for all SDSL products is 12 months.

7. Can I upgrade to SDSL from my current ADSL broadband product?

Yes, you'll need to contact our Business Support Team to arrange this.

Your current connection will remain active until the SDSL service has been installed. You will also keep all your existing account details including email addresses and webspace settings.

8. Can I change the speed of my SDSL connection?

Yes. Simply request a speed regrade through the Help Assistant.

It'll cost £150 and normally takes between 5-10 days, with little or no downtime.
