Below are the upload speeds we aim for on our residential and business broadband products.

Key

  • Line Speed depends on the type of broadband you have
    • Fixed speed: up to 256kb/s
    • Max DSL: up to 448kb/s
    • Max DSL Premium: up to 832kb/s*
    • ADSL2/ADSL2+ Annex A: up to 1.3Mb/s**
    • ADSL2+ Annex M: up to 2.5Mb/s***
    • Fibre: up to 9.5Mb/s (Plusnet Value, Plusnet Extra if signed up before 14/08/2012 and Plusnet Essentials)
    • Fibre: up to 19.5Mb/s (Plusnet Extra if signed up after 14/08/2012 and Plusnet Unlimited)

* Max DSL Premium is available on request for customers using Max DSL broadband. Please see our Max Premium FAQ for more details.

** ADSL2+ circuits are provisioned at 448Kb/s by default. Speeds can be uncapped on request using the Help Assistant.

*** Annex M availability is dependent on line conditions and costs £10 per month exc.VAT. It is available on request using the Help Assistant.

Connections to the sites and servers listed below may see reduced speeds when our network is busy. The list not exhaustive, and access to other websites that have content hosted by one of the large Content Distribution Networks may also be slowed when the network is busy.

Many downloads from Apple, Microsoft, PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE and multimedia content from sites such as the BBC, eBay and Facebook are hosted on one of the above Content Distribution Networks. Depending on your account type, downloads from these sources may be slowed during busy times.

Downloads using download accelerators are also managed.
