How To View Your Broadband Usage

1. Where to find View My Broadband Usage

There's a few ways to get to View My Broadband Usage, this is the easiest:

1. Go to the Member Centre
2. Click View My Usage as shown in the screenshot below

2. Usage Splits

Usage is split into two categories. The categories you'll see depend on the broadband account you subscribe to.

• Fixed-price accounts (Plusnet Unlimited and Business Accounts) split usage between Peak and Off-peak times
• PAYG-style accounts (Value, Pro or Broadband Your Way) split usage between Paid-for and Free

3. The Summary Page

The summary page is the first thing you'll see when you go to View My Broadband Usage. Here you'll find your total usage for the current billing month, and a daily breakdown of your usage in over the current calendar week.

1. The bar chart does not represent a limit or cap, the scale will increase as your usage does.
2. Click View Internet Activities to see a breakdown of your usage by traffic type - there's more information on this further down the page.
3. Click View this month's usage to see a daily breakdown of your usage over your current billing month, rather than the current calendar week.
4. Click View your usage history to see a summary of your usage over the last 3 billing months.

5. Unexplained usage & background traffic

Occasionally you may see traffic that you haven't used. This is usually background traffic that our systems have classified incorrectly and is nothing to worry about.

If you see a lot of unexpected usage, this could be caused by one of the following:

• Unauthorised access of your wireless network - If you use a wireless network without the correct security measures, it's possible that someone else could be using your connection. By setting up wireless security you can prevent this from occurring
• Computer virus infection - Your computer may be infected with a virus that's using your broadband connection. This can appear as unexpected traffic on your usage graphs. You should update your anti-virus software and perform a full scan of your system - find out more in our security guide.
