Summary: How to setup the SJPhone software for use with Broadband Phone
Before you can make calls from your computer with Broadband Phone you'll need to download, install and configure suitable software. The SJPhone software is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. This software works like a telephone and allows you to make calls from your desktop. Installing SJPhone
Configuring SJPhoneYou will now be taken through the audio setup wizard. You will need to select your preferred speaker devices and microphone on step 3, and the mic volume should be adjusted to whatever you find most effective (you may need to flip back and forth between pages 5 and 6 for this). All other settings will be fine left as they are. 1. Right click on the main window of the softphone, or click the menu link at the bottom and select Options from the menu:
2. Select the Profiles tab and click the New button to set up your PlusNet VoIP account:
3. Choose a name for your account and enter this into the Profile name: box (the File name box will fill in automatically as you type your chosen account name) and then click on OK to be taken to the Profile Options screen:
4. Select the SIP Proxy tab and enter the settings as shown in the following picture:
5. Now select the STUN tab. All you need do is delete the contents of the Server Address: box and leave a 0 (zero) in the box following the colon as in the picture below (if you dont do this you may get a popup asking for a positive integer). All other settings on all other tabs can be left as their default and do not need to be changed:
6. Once you have finished with the above, click on the OK button and you will get a popup asking for your account name and password:
Enter your username and password as they appear in the email you have received detailing your account settings and click OK.
Your account is now configured and you may start using the SJPhone software to make and receive calls.
