Problems forwarding emails from uk2.net addresses (53119) - UPDATE
This is an update to the post I made earlier today about problems sending emails to Plusnet hosted addresses via uk2.net's servers. A copy of the last post can be seen here - http://snipurl.com/3kklf
We have established that emails from uk2.net's servers are being refused by our anti-spam partner Postini.
We have contacted Postini and they have advised that the reason for this is due to the large volumes of unsolicited email they are receiving from uk2.net's servers.
When this happens, Postini imposes a block on the sending IP address by ignoring it for an hour. If the situation does not improve then this process is repeated.
We have contacted uk2.net to let them know about this and are currently awaiting their response.
We will post another update once we hear back from them.
Kind Regards,
Bob Pullen

FTP to the homepages servers.
How long will it take?
About an hour.
What does the work involve?
We are moving the FTP servers from the old loadbalancers to the new ones.
Is it likely to cause problems?
We don't think so.
Is there anything else I need to know?
No.
Kind Regards,

Problems forwarding emails from uk2.net addresses (53119) - NEW
We have received a number of reports from customers who are unable to send email to their Plusnet-hosted email addresses via uk2.net's servers.
This includes customers who might be trying to send email to a uk2.net domain that is configured to forward messages to a Plusnet address.
The sender is unlikely to receive an immediate failed delivery notice but some customers may eventually have their mail returned with a "retry timeout exceeded" error.
Our engineers are aware of the problem and we will provide further details as they become available.
Sorry for any problems this may be causing you.
Kind Regards,
Bob Pullen

Broadband Network Capacity - RESOLVED
Here's the final update to the post I made last week about our Network Capacity. You can read the last one here:
http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1219306893.htm
Since the closing ceremony of the Olympics, we've seen a massive reduction in the amount of iPlayer usage. Whereas we were previously seeing peaks of about 900Mbps+, this has now dropped to approximately 300Mbps, meaning that our customers should continue to see good speeds throughout the day.
Thanks for your patience during this busy time.
Kind regards,
James Bailey

Problems accessing some websites (53093) - RESOLVED
This is an update to the previously reported problem accessing certain websites.
Akamai have begun routing our traffic via an alternative path and we now believe the problem to be resolved.
The discrepancy with our internal monitoring was a knock on affect of these routing changes and we're currently working on getting that fixed.
We would like to apologise to any customers who were inconvenienced by these issues.
Kind Regards,
Bob Pullen
