Missing Usenet Posts (58896) - RESOLVED
This is an update to the post we made earlier today about problems some customers have been experiencing with Usenet posts not appearing in the groups they have been sent to.
Giganews have identified a misconfiguration problem affecting a number of their servers which was causing posts to be dropped without any error message being returned to the sender.
The servers have now been correctly configured and measures put in place to return a visible error message should a similar thing happen again.
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
Kind Regards,
Bob Pullen

Problems accessing USENET services (56479) - UPDATE
We have continued to test our USENET services overnight and this morning and believe this problem to have been resolved.
We have taken action with our suppliers to resolve the initial issues as well as making some changes to our traffic management platform to ensure that our USENET traffic is prioritised on our network accordingly.
As we have still seen the odd isolated complaint regarding access to our text news servers, we are keeping this service status posting open until the close of the day, at which point we are confident that all of the problems should be fixed.
Kind Regards,
James Bailey

Problems accessing USENET services (56479) - UPDATE
After working with our suppliers throughout the afternoon, we now believe this problem to be fixed. We believe that customers should now be able to both access our USENET services and view/subscribe to newsgroups.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any disruption this may have caused.
We will keep this status thread set to "amber" so that we can monitor overnight, with a mind to changing it back to "green" in the morning.
Kind Regards,
James Bailey
