    BT Sport via YouView from Plusnet

    A useful troubleshooting guide for your BT Sports channels.

    There are two BT Sport packs available on YouView TV from Plusnet: BT Sport and BT Sport Lite.

    BT Sport via YouView information

    You can add or remove the BT Sport channel pack by browsing to www.plus.net/tv/channelpacks and following the instructions on screen.

    Adding channel packs

    • If you add a channel pack, it'll be available to watch within 24 hours
    • The first bill after adding a channel pack will include the charge to cover the period between activation and date of the bill, as well as the next month's subscription
    • The BT Sport channel pack also includes access to content via the BT Sport App and online player at sport.bt.com

    Removing channel packs

    • Channel packs are subject to a 1 month minimum term
    • If you remove a channel pack, removal will be scheduled for your next billing date, so you'll be able to keep watching all channels in the pack(s) until then
    • By removing the BT Sport channel pack you will also lose access to content via the BT Sport App and online player at sport.bt.com

    Once activated, all BT Sport channels will be available in the YouView guide. If you'd prefer to browse to the channels directly, enter one of the following numbers:

    The BT Sport red button service is used to show multiple live sport events when schedules cause a clash. It's available on BT Sport via YouView TV from Plusnet and will mainly be used to show multiple Champions League and Europa League games.

    The BT Sport Connected Red Button is a new red button service, which is available for YouView TV from Plusnet customers who've also taken our BT Sport pack.

    How to access BT Sport red button content

    A partial recording usually means one of three things:

    1. First, switch to a BT Sport channel. If red button content is available, a red button icon will appear on screen. When it does, press the Red button on your YouView remote.
    2. From there, you'll be taken to a BT Sport Extra channel, or the BT Sport Connected Red Button service if it's available.
    3. You can also access red button content directly by switching to a BT Sport Extra channel via the YouView guide. These are standard channels with a full schedule so you can also set reminders (and make recordings if you have a YouView+ box).

    How to use the BT Sport Connected Red Button service

    The service is controlled with your YouView remote control. To open it, switch to a BT Sport channel and press the Red button when you see the red button icon on your screen

    Once the service has started:

    • The Left and Right buttons scroll through the Match Tiles on the top-bar
    • The Up and Down buttons scroll through the Match Stats pages on the left side-bar
    • The OK button channel-changes the Rescaled Video Window to the match at the top-left corner of your screen
    • The Red button toggles within the BT Sport Connected Red Button service between Match Stats view and Full-screen view with Pop-up Alerts
    • The Green button channel-changes from a Pop-up Alert to the corresponding match video
    • The Close button exits the service, which will stop Pop-up Alerts

    How to record matches on the BT Sport Connected Red Button service

    If you have a YouView+ box, you can schedule recordings via the YouView guide (the matches shown on the service can be found on BT Sport Extra 2-7) or you can follow the steps below to start recording while using the BT Sport Connected Red Button service.

    1. Use Left and Right to highlight the match you want to record and press OK to select it
    2. Press The Record button to start the recording

    Once the recording has started, you can then safely switch to any other match without affecting the recording.

    How to use Pop-Up Alerts with the BT Sport Connected Red Button service

    To switch pop-up alerts on or off, highlight the 'Settings' tile on screen and follow the instructions shown on in the side bar.

    Your YouView box will save the choice you make. If you want to change it you'll need to repeat the above steps again.

    First, check that BT Sport is active on your account.

    • If it is, please note it can take up to 24 hours for new channels to become available after placing an order
    • If it's been longer than 24 hours and you still can't see the channels, please contact our Support Team.

    Please note: You'll only be able to watch BT Sport channels on a YouView or YouView+ box supplied by Plusnet.

    What are you having problems with?

    1. The red button icon doesn't appear on screen
    2. The BT Sport Connected Red Button video feeds or match stats aren't working
    3. The BT Sport Connected Red Button Pop-up Alerts aren't working

     

    The red button icon doesn't appear on screen

    Firstly, please make sure you're watching a BT Sport channel and red button content is being broadcast. You can see the schedule for red button content by looking for BT Sport Extra channels in the YouView guide.

    If you're sure the red button service should be available, try the following steps:

    1. Change to another channel (use Up and Down or just type in a number directly, e.g. 101)
    2. Change back to the BT Sport channel you were on originally
    3. Wait for 5-10 seconds for the red button icon to appear on screen and then press the Red button on your YouView remote.

     

    The BT Sport Connected Red Button video feeds or match stats aren't working

    Restarting the service will fix most problems. To do this, please follow the steps below:

    1. Change to another channel (use Up and Down or just type in a number directly, e.g. 101)
    2. Change back to the BT Sport channel you were on originally
    3. Wait for 5-10 seconds for the red button icon to appear on screen and then press the Red button on your YouView remote.

     

    The BT Sport Connected Red Button Pop-up Alerts aren't working

    Remember, Pop-up Alerts only appear for goals scored in another match covered by the BT Sport Connected Red Button service.

     

    How to check that pop-ups are enabled

    1. First, make sure Pop-up Alerts are enabled, to do this highlight 'Settings' on the top bar and follow the instructions on screen
    2. Press the Red button to switch to Full-screen view and look for the 'bell' icon signifying Pop-up's are enabled

    If you're sure Pop-Up Alerts are enabled, restart the service

    1. Change to another channel (use Up and Down or just type in a number directly, e.g. 101)
    2. Change back to the BT Sport channel you were on originally
    3. Wait for 5-10 seconds for the red button icon to appear on screen and then press the Red button on your YouView remote.
