1. What is Plusnet Pro?
It's an Add-On for Plusnet broadband customers. It removes rate limits and makes sure that your broadband activities are always given priority over other lower-priority web traffic.
It's available with Plusnet Essentials and Unlimited for both standard and fibre optic broadband. For details of availability on older products, please see our Broadband product archive.
Plusnet Pro is ideal if you're serious about online gaming, or demand a top-class connection for home working.
2. How much is Plusnet Pro?
Plusnet Pro costs just £5 (inc VAT) a month. This is on top of your normal monthly subscription charge.
3. How do I get Plusnet Pro?
Just add Plusnet Pro to your broadband at our Add-Ons page.
4. What's the contract length?
Plusnet Pro has a one month contract, making it really flexible.
E.g. if you're planning a few gaming sessions, or need to work from home now-and-again you can add Plusnet Pro for just a month. Need it for longer? Just keep Plusnet Pro on your account as long as you need it.
5. What is prioritised traffic?
We assign all traffic on our network a priority, with the more time-sensitive applications given a higher priority. Higher priority traffic gets bandwidth before lower priority traffic. As the total bandwidth available is shared, this means lower priority traffic can be slower at busy times when there's less bandwidth available.
See below for a comparison of traffic priorities with and without Plusnet Pro (See our Broadband product archive for prioritisation information on products not listed here).

Have a look at our Traffic Management guide guide to find out more about prioritisation and how we manage our network.
6. How will it make my games faster?
Latency and high ping times when you're online gaming are frustrating.
With Plusnet Pro latency is lower and ping times are quicker than standard broadband. This means you'll get faster, smoother gaming - and experience your games exactly how they're meant to be enjoyed.
Our traffic management system automatically recognises and gives priority to lots of popular games. We constantly review and add more games to our database, to give them priority.
If you have a favourite game that you'd like adding to our database just let us know.
7. Why is it good for homeworking?
Slower speeds at busy times means business-critical applications can be affected.
However, with Plusnet Pro VPN traffic is given priority over lower priority broadband traffic, even at busy times. You'll stay connected to the office, be able to work faster and do more at the same time (e.g. make video or VoIP calls, email and FTP files).
