Established in 1996, the IWF is the UK hotline for the public to report potentially illegal website content relating to child abuse, together with material of an unlawful nature. 
To provide a secure and enjoyable environment during your time online, PlusNet feel strongly that we show commitment to such an ethical cause. Thanks to the IWF's ongoing work to remove illegal content, over 500,000 child abuse images have been removed from newsgroups hosted by UK ISPs.
Is the only named relevant authority outside of UK Law Enforcement Agencies, able to receive and assess potentially illegal content.
Remove criminally racist content hosted in the UK.
Remove criminally obscene content hosted in the UK.
Remove child abuse images worldwide.
  Investigate Spam, Usenet and website content as well as material featured on other online communities.
  Process 400 reports relating to potentially illegal content each week.

 

   Have reduced potentially illegal content hosted in the UK from 18% in 1997 to less than 1% by the end of 2003.
