Follow this guide to set up the standard Mac OS X VPN client

Double-click the Mac HD icon, select the Applications option and then Internet Connect and click on the VPN option.

Select which type of VPN connection you wish to make.

Select "Edit configurations" from the Configuration menu.

All the details you need to enter to establish your connection can be filled in from this single configuration section. Your network administrator will supply you with all the details you require to authenticate including the authentication types and any certificates which may be used.
