Summary: We use a number of tools to keep an eye on the performance of our network. Here are some of the graphs used to monitor broadband usage. What you're seeing here is exactly what our Operations team see, so don't worry if you don't understand everything.
  1. Total Traffic on the network
  2. Percentage of packets dropped per platform
  3. Number of customers using the network

1. Total Traffic on the network

These graphs show the traffic on our 20CN and 21CN broadband platforms over the last 24 hours.

2. Percentage of packets dropped per platform

These graphs show the percentage of 'packets' dropped on our 20CN and 21CN broadband platforms.

Packet drops are shown separately for six traffic queues:

  • Titanium (highest priority)
  • Gold
  • Gold Plated
  • Silver
  • Bronze
  • Best Effort

Traffic can be assigned to different queues depending on your broadband account (e.g. Gaming is classed as Gold on Value, but as Titanium on Extra and Pro). See our Traffic Prioritisation guide for more details. When the system is working correctly and the network is in balance you should see very few (if any) drops in titanium and gold queues. The other queues are designed to drop traffic at peak times; this is to preserve the quality of the overall service.

3. Number of customers using the network

Here you can see the number of customers connected to our network over the last 24 hours. Each colour represents a different gateway (use the Usertools Gateway Checker to find out which gateway you're connected to at the moment).
