Summary: We use a number of tools to keep an eye on the performance of our network. Here are some of the graphs used to monitor queues on our Mail delivery platform. What you're seeing here is exactly what our Operations team see, so don't worry if you don't understand everything.

The graphs on this page show the incoming mail queues on our spam filtering appliances (Ironport) and inbound mail delivery platform (INMX) over the last 24 hours, week and month.

All incoming mail is scanned by Ironport. After spam has been blocked or quarantined, the remaining mail is passed through to the INMX platform and delivered to our customers. In cases where a customer has switched off spam filtering, mail will be passed directly to the INMX platform.

The graphs show traffic for Incoming (ipin) and Outgoing mail (ipout). Each line represents the number of messages queued on an individual server.

Messages are load balanced across two separate sites via multiple DNS entries, OSPF and BGP. This means the queues should be roughly the same across each group of servers.
