We are getting reports from some customers advising on a high volumes of SPAM being received.

If you were logged in to the portal, you could associate your username with this problem.

We have investigated this issue this evening, mail traffic seems to be normal based on the last weeks trend, no extra mails in the queues and no pattern to the spam mails, we will continue to monitor the situation throughout the night and pick up the investigations again in more depth tomorrow morning.

We are currently looking at identifying customers with affected addresses that have not previously been associated with our Webmail service.

Our incident response teams continue to work around the clock to further investigate this issue.

This evening, we have published an extended FAQ which should answer some of the common concerns and queries. You can see this on the PlusNet UserGroup website here : http://usergroup.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,4787.0.html or via our Discussion Forums.

Our incident teams are still working around the clock to investigate the issue and work on improvements to alleviate some of the inconvenience. A full security audit of our platform is well underway.

We are confident that only the isolated webmail platform has been compromised.

Our development, networks and QA teams are continuing to work on bringing a temporary webmail solution online.

We are currently in the testing (QA) process and we are anticipating that webmail should be available for customers by the end of the day.

Replacement Webmail platform is in service and operational. Investigations continue and a full incident report is expected early this week. Problem is being closed pending publication of the incident report.
