Follow this guide to set up the standard Windows XP VPN client


  1. Click on Start then Control Panel.


  2. Network connections panel

  3. Select the "Connect to the network at my workplace" option.


  4. New connection wizard

  5. Next, give your connection a name to identify it.


  6. New connection wizard connection name

  7. Now, specify you are requiring a VPN connection.


  8. New connection wizard connection type

  9. Select the "Do not dial the initial connection" option, you are wanting to use our existing internet connection.


  10. New connection wizard public network

  11. Next, specify the name of the computer that is handling your VPN connection, this will be given to you by the administrator of your network.


  12. New connection wizard vpn server selection

  13. Finally, enter the username and password to log into your VPN and click the connect button.


  14. Connect to my VPN connection
