    What is Black Friday?

    Black Friday is a day of online and in-store offers to encourage consumers to make big purchases in the build-up to the festive season.

    Originally an American tradition, Black Friday occurs the day after Thanksgiving but has caught on across the world. Being close to Christmas, Black Friday was always a busy day for American shoppers, though it's officially been the US's busiest shopping day of the year since 2005.

    The 'black' in Black Friday refers to a day where retailers are 'in the black' – in profit.

    When is Black Friday 2021?

    Black Friday is traditionally held the Friday following Thanksgiving in the USA which is on the 23rd November, so this year it's on Friday 26 November 2021.

    What is Cyber Monday?

    Cyber Monday is similar to Black Friday, but is exclusively online, with a full 24 hours of sales and limited promotions available without leaving the house.

    Digital retailers invented Cyber Monday to take advantage of the annual rise in sales they saw the Monday following Black Friday. Cyber Monday is also a great period for free shipping, with many retailers offering free postage for the day – so look out for that!

    When is Cyber Monday 2021?

    Cyber Monday follows the weekend after Black Friday, so this year falls on Monday 29th November.

    My broadband contract ends around Black Friday –  how do I switch provider?

    All you need to do is pop back here in November to see all our Black Friday deals and we'll sure you'll find a broadband bargain that's made for you. Just choose your package and sign up.

    We'll contact your current provider and get everything sorted for you.

    If you're switching from a cable provider like Virgin, you'll need to let them know yourself as soon as we've confirmed your activation date. They'll often need around 30 days' notice.

    Line rental is included in all our broadband packages. The standard line rental price is £21.22 a month, except where you sign up to Unlimited Broadband on an 18 month contract, the standard line rental price is £19.99 a month for the first 18 months, then £21.22 a month (line only, no calls included). The standard line rental price, or where applicable the discounted line rental price, is included in the package price.

    Unlimited Fibre Extra (12 and 18 month contracts)

    Other call information:

    Mobile minutes: Are available to Line Only and the Anytime International 300 call plan and adds 100 inclusive minutes to UK mobile numbers and 070 personal numbering services at any time.     Voicemail

    1571 Voicemail: Included as standard, our answer phone-style feature takes messages when you can't get to the phone.

    Voicemail Extra: This advanced voicemail service lets you record your own greeting, store up to 30 messages and listen to them when you're not at home. Voicemail Extra costs £3 a month. Further information about Voicemail Extra can be found here.

    Caller Display

    Plusnet Call Protect

    BT Sport from Plusnet on the Sky Digital Satellite Platform

    BT Sport is available to existing UK Plusnet residential broadband customers with a Sky satellite receiver box, a satellite dish installed and an active viewing card. No access to any online content is made available by BT via www.btsport.com or via the BT Sport App. Excludes Multi-room. BoxNation available in SD only. There is a minimum term of one month starting from your next billing date following sign up.

    † BT Sport HD requires a Sky HD satellite receiver box, HD cabling and an HD-ready television to view the HD channels.

    BT Sport App from Plusnet
